Seasons Decorations Challenge

There were only four entries to this challenge, three of which were from one person.  I have therefore picked the two I like the most to feature here.
All the entries can be seen here ultra-fractal-redux.deviantart…

A well illustrated statement of the bright ornaments and baubles we see on Christmas trees.

Decorations by CopperColour

I chose this one because of the colours and pretty texturing, as well as the fact that it is an unusual take on
decorations that might be used at a festive time.  It has an abstract appeal about it which is very appealing.

Bleak Mid Winter Challenge

We had a much better response to this challenge, particularly as people get busy at this time of the year.  Below are the ones we Admins picked out.

"This is one of the best fractal landscapes I've ever seen.  When I first saw it, I thought it was a photograph!"
"Indeed a very bleak looking landscape that looks incredibly cold and windy.  I love the appearance of the white cloud -
a cyclone perhaps - which looks as though it's sucking particles of ice-dust up from the terrain and will spread it in the
form of a very fine snow over everything else.  Really makes me feel shivery to look at it!"

"The colors and visual depth of this piece wonderfully evoke an icy raging torrent."
"Wow, I would hate to fall in this frozen river.  The movement and coloring makes me believe it is a fast flowing very cold river."

"A remarkably naturalistic depiction of water. It looks cold, perhaps flowing over a rocky river bed or maybe moving beneath
a thin skin of ice. An unusual and intriguing image."
"I see the appearance of a torrent of water that has become frozen over rocks on a river-bed. Very realistic looking indeed."

We hope you will take a look at our February-March Challenge and if you feel inspired, give it a go!

February-March Challenges1.  White Yellow Black, White Yellow Grey Challenge
Last year we ran a showcase challenge for Black White and Red fractal art, which was very successful and brought us lots of fantastic images to enjoy.  So we thought we'd give this type of challenge another go, this time using Yellow instead of Red, and giving the choice of using either Black or Grey as the darker tone, and of course, White.
Here are some examples to look at:

Here are some Samples of Gradients you can use as a basis for your work
Just copy and paste the codes into your gradient window in UF to use them.
